Pastoral Relations Committee

The Pastoral Relations Committee is usually comprised of three to five people in addition to the minister. The goal of the committee is to give support to the pastor and facilitate healthy communication with the congregation.

  • Communication: The PRC facilitates communication between the pastor and the congregation. They share the congregation's concerns and hopes with the pastor and convey the pastor's needs and functions to the congregation.

  • Support: The PRC provides support for the pastor.

  • Mediation: The PRC helps resolve concerns and mediate between the pastor and the congregation.

  • Advocacy: The PRC advocates for the pastor's leadership.

  • Confidentiality: The PRC safeguards information that is determined to be "classified" as a sacred trust.

  • Relational focus: The PRC focuses on building relationships and attending to the feelings and emotional factors of ministry.

The PRC can also function as a Church/Staff Relations Committee, acting as a liaison between the congregation and all church staff.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel comfortable and confident in bringing your issues to any of the following committee members.

And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience.  Overwhelm them with appreciation and love.
